Sunday Night Dread: That’s Life

This video first appeared on my Patreon, where subscribers could watch it a month before it landed here. If you’d like to support me for as little as £1 a month, then click here to help provide the world with regular deep dives about weird-bad pop culture, early access to my podcast and videos, and all kinds of other stuff.

There’s over 500,000 words of content, including exclusives that’ll never appear here on the free blog, such as 1970’s British variety-set horror novella, Jangle, and my latest novel, Men of the Loch. Please give my existing books a look too, or if you’re so inclined, sling me a Ko-fi or some PayPal cash.

  1. Felt a bit sorry for Grant Baynham, who in fact had water thrown on him previously on the show, due to the all powerful host’s detestation over his smoking habit. He later made it clear publicly that the feelings towards Esther R were entirely mutual, and loathed working for her, although he got his own back in his final show by pouring water over her.

  2. Haha, had forgotten about the Bottom episode with the ‘Esther Rantzen’ as it pulls your gums over your teeth.

Loving this site btw. It’s tailor made for anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s.

  3. Any plans to tackle Stars in Their Eyes? Loads of weird people pretending to be (mostly) famous singers. Plus Matthew Kelly as host. Vic and Bobs piss take was brilliant but it needs a truly in depth assessment.
